Return planned for Jewel of the South

By Press Release Jun 16, 2023

A new series of filming of the Channel 5 series ‘Jewel of the South’ will be taking place across the Island.

Series one, narrated by former Island High Sheriff, Alan Titchmarsh, featured the stories of a variety of businesses and individuals, including singer Derek Sandy, Briddlesford Lodge Farm, and Sandown Airport.

Originally the series was due to be aired for four programmes, but was extended to six, after it made the top 10 of Channel 5’s weekly programmes, attracting nearly one million viewers.

A spokesman said: “Daisybeck Studios has confirmed that a second series of ‘Isle of Wight: Jewel of the South’ has been commissioned by Channel 5, and the crews are very much looking forward to capturing the brilliant stories on the Island that viewers seemed to love.

“This is all we can say on this for now, as we are currently casting.”

Meanwhile, Alan will also be narrating a new six-part series, featuring Jersey and Guernsey, which will launch on the channel next week.
