Dover Park Primary School has praised the generosity and community spirit shown by its pupils, families, and staff, following a successful donation drive in support of the IW Food Bank.
The initiative was run as a Reverse Advent Calendar, with each year group invited to donate specific festive food items, to help local families enjoy a more complete Christmas dinner. Donations included hot chocolate, stuffing, Christmas puddings, and other seasonal essentials, all chosen to bring comfort during the festive period.
As part of the initiative, children who took part were invited to come into school wearing their home clothes, adding an extra element of excitement and enjoyment to the day.
Headteacher, Mr Kirby, thanked everyone involved for their support. He said: “I am grateful to parents, carers, staff and pupils: their generosity reflects the school’s values of ‘Enjoy, Belong and Believe’.
“I hope the donations will make a real difference to families across the Island this Christmas.”
Dover Park Primary School thanked everyone who contributed to the appeal, saying the collective effort had helped spread festive cheer and made the initiative a meaningful success.
