Post Office closed following ‘sudden, but peaceful, passing’

The post Office in Shorwell has closed its doors for the final time after 32 years in business.

The building, based on Shorewell’s main road was also home to the village’s shop.

However, following a “sudden, but peaceful, passing of Marian” both the shop and Post Office have now been closed.

A note posted on the door of the property, dated August 25, reads: “Dear customers, following the sudden, but peaceful, passing of Marian on Friday morning we have taken the sad decision to close the shop and Post Office.”

“We would like to thank you for your consideration and support over the last 32 years”

Post office and store is now closed
