The National police air support unit was spotted hovering over parts of Newport on Thursday afternoon (January 10).
It was originally searching around the Medina River area but later moved on towards Arreton.
One witness spotted the helicopter circling low near to the White Lion Pub in Arreton before it headed back at speed to the River Medina.
