Head ONTO THE STREET in Ryde for the Jubilee celebrations on Saturday, June 4, as there will be a showcase of dance, music and drama on Ryde High Street for all to enjoy.

A grant from the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee fund has allowed a number of Ryde organisations to combine their efforts, seeing the New Carnival Company, Monkton Arts, Ryde Arts, and Riboleau Street Studios all involved in creating a memorable event for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

The entertainment includes Elizabeth in Wonderland – Roaming Theatre, Back to the Future – The next Generation. Community dance performances in Co-op square, flag-making with the New Carnival Company from 11am to 3pm at 13b Union Road and a community mural with the Riboleau Street studio artists in Minghella Square.

There will also be Art in the Garden, an Arts and Crafts market at St Thomas Rest Garden.

The grand finale will take place in the High Street at 3pm; bring your flags and Jubilee dress.

Zoe Thompson, chairwoman of Ryde Business Association said: “Having entertainment and activities in the heart of the town means people can enjoy what is going on as well as supporting our local businesses. We hope people will come to Ryde and spend the whole day here, grab some lunch, do some shopping and enjoy the celebrations too.”
