‘Nothing seized’ after police swoop on car at ferry terminal

Police found nothing after they searched a car acting on intelligence.

A  search at East Cowes ferry terminal was carried out after an intelligence tip about a vehicle from Southampton.

Officers searched four people and the vehicle on Tuesday (July 31) at around 11pm but found nothing of interest.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “A stop check of a vehicle at East Cowes ferry terminal at 10.58pm was carried out.

“A vehicle was stopped following intelligence that was received about a vehicle which had boarded at Southampton.

“Four persons searched at East Cowes.

“No arrests, nothing seized or removed from the vehicle.”
