The Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards, organised by the IW Sports Foundation, recognises outstanding achievement or service amongst sportsmen and women of all ages, and celebrates the Island’s sporting success stories. Putting forward a nomination is acknowledging in public, the success that a member or team has achieved, or the contribution that a volunteer or officer has made to the progress of a club.
There is much to proclaim, but there are also many unsung heroes. Organisers would like to see as many sports and clubs as possible represented in the nominations, so please consult coaches, committee members, youth leaders, trustees, etc, and make as many nominations as you feel is appropriate.
The 49th Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards will take place on Thursday, March 21 at Medina Theatre in Newport. All finalists and their nominators will be invited to the ceremony.
Nominations are open until midnight on January 14 and can only be accepted from IW Sports Foundation members. So, if you aren’t already a member, you will need to join first. Membership costs just £10 per year and runs from January-December, but if you join now, you will get the remainder of this year free. The membership form can be found at iow.life/iwsportsfoundation and nomination forms at ow.life/sportsawards.
