Two sections of Fairlee Road, Newport, are to be improved during night-time works next month.
Island Roads will carry out the work at the junction with the link road to the dual carriageway, and nearby Hillside.
The works will take place between 7.30pm and the early hours of the following morning on June 2, 3 and 4.
During the works, Fairlee link road will be closed, and a temporary one-way system will be in place on Fairlee Road, north to south, between Fairlee Service Station and Snooks Hill.
Traffic travelling towards East Cowes and Ryde will be diverted via Staplers, while access to local properties will be maintained.
An Island Roads spokesman said: “By working at night, we are aiming to reduce inconvenience to road users, and we hope that this essential work will be delivered with minimal disruption.”
He added it had not been feasible to undertake the work during the recent Fairlee Road closure for utility works, as doing so would have left residents living between both worksites unable to drive to and from their homes.
