Nick nails it

Bonchurch-based 27-year-old discus thrower Nick Percy secured his fifth British championships gold medal in Manchester with a 65m throw, extending his Scottish record.

Nick is in contention for selection for the World Championships with his global ranking inside the top 32, following a series of consistent efforts this season.

Nick said: “To reach 65m is a brilliant feeling because that’s a big landmark in discus throwing – like 10 seconds in the 100m.

“I’m ecstatic with another personal best and another consistent series. It’s been the story of my whole year and I’m just glad at the right time we actually got the big throw today, although it is a shame it’s not slightly further in order to guarantee selection but I have done all I can.”
