Visitors to Jay Miller’s Circus, on Saturday night, were given an extra treat – a performance from an Island aerial silk and contemporary dance school.
Jaydene-Lee Arts, of Newport, were given the opportunity to take part in the pre-show, and later the finale, with 16 dancers showing off their skills. The school is run by Jay, 30, who first started teaching 10 years ago, and has been on the Island since 2020.
She said: “As well as aerial silks we also do drops, wrap arounds, split moves and lots of other tricks. We had such a great time, there were 16 of us and I joined in with them at the end of the 10-minute performance. Then we were all back in the ring at the end of the evening to take part in singing and dancing with the rest of the circus acts.
“We have performed there before, and couldn’t wait to get back once we had another invitation. We’d just like to thank Jay Miller’s for giving us such an experience and opportunity.”
Jay Miller’s Circus remains at the showground until August 31.
