The IW Chamber of Commerce has appointed Rob Johnson as its new chief executive officer.
Rob, co-owner of local orthodontic firm Smiles of Wight, will take over from outgoing CEO, Steven Holbrook, in August. Steven has led the chamber for the past seven years and is credited with strengthening its financial footing and broadening member support.
A spokesman for the chamber explained that Rob brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held senior positions across large corporations, and small to medium sized enterprises. His background in strategic planning, marketing, and community engagement positions, well to support and grow the Island’s business network.
Rob said: “It’s a real honour to take on this role. I deeply value the communities and businesses that make the Island such a special place. I look forward to working closely with our members to drive innovation, build partnerships, and support sustainable growth, both on and beyond the Island.”
Outgoing CEO, Steven Holbrook, welcomed the appointment. He said: “Rob’s passion for the Island and strong business credentials make him the ideal successor. The chamber has come a long way over the past seven years, and I’m confident Rob will continue that momentum.”
The IW Chamber of Commerce represents hundreds of businesses across the Island employing thousands of staff. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Chamber is committed to championing local enterprise through advocacy, networking, and tailored support services.
