Nativity story told by children in Ryde

There was a good attendance this year at the annual Children’s Service of Readings, Prayers, Poems, and Carols, at St Mary’s Church, in Ryde High Street on Tuesday, December 23.

The service took the form of reflection on the Christmas story, exploring its meaning through words, mime, song, and meditation, with a focus on the different characters within the Nativity.

During the service, the children walked in procession around the church to the crib, each carrying a small figure. The figures were then placed on the straw at the crib, forming part of the Nativity scene.
