MPs get some Island Spirit!

MPs will be enjoying a festive tipple from the Island this Christmas, as Island Spirit Gin is now being served at the Houses of Parliament.

For Isle of Wight Gin, a small independent producer, the move is being hailed as a significant achievement. The business says it reflects the care behind small‑batch making, the strong sense of place that defines Island food and drink, and the support of the local community that has helped it grow.

Island Spirit was developed by creative director, Leigh Jackman, using a synaesthetic approach to flavour, blending taste, aroma and atmosphere, to evoke the scent of a summer breeze on the Isle of Wight.

Leigh said: “Island Spirit was designed to express how the Island feels in summer. Having it served at the Houses of Parliament is a proud moment for us.”

The distillery has also thanked West Wight MP, Richard Quigley, for his support in helping Island‑based producers reach Westminster.
