By Isle of Wight ObserverA man has been found hanged at a Newport cemetery on Thursday morning (September 20).
Police and ambulance crews attended Parkhurst Military Cemetery at Forest Road, Newport, shortly before 6.30am.
The cemetery is located next to Hunnyhill Primary School.
The cemetery has been cordoned off by police.
An Isle of Wight Police spokesman said: “We were called at 6.18am this morning (Sept 20) following the discovery of a 26-year-old man’s body in woodland near Forest Road in Newport.”
“Then man’s next of kin have since been informed.”
Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
