This Thursday (Oct 8) will see Sir Ian Cheshire, Chairman of Barclays Bank UK and former Chief Executive of Kingfisher and B&Q (pictured above) join business owners, directors and managers of Island companies as guest speaker at the forthcoming LinkedInLocal Isle of Wight ‘Live’ event.
These online sessions regularly bring members of the Island’s business community together to meet the people behind the profiles.
This 11th event in the online ‘Live’ series will see Sir Ian reflect on his career, deliver business insights and answer questions from those attending. The ‘Live’ events were launched in April of this year by Dale Howarth, Chris Court and Jonathan Thornton as an extension of their popular LinkedInLocal face-to-face events, supporting local businesses in these unprecedented times.
Each session in the ‘Live’ series gives those in business the opportunity to hear important updates from Steven Holbrook of the Chamber of Commerce and Isle of Wight Council Cabinet Member Gary Peace, in addition to hearing from the guest speaker. The format provides a professional environment for the exchange of ideas and experiences, without the fear of being sold to.
Previous guest speakers have included the Island’s Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Susie Sheldon, Head of Visit Isle of Wight Will Myles, leading Employment Lawyer Alison Coley, Red Funnel’s Chief Finance Officer Graham Barnetson and Chief Executive of Vectis Housing, Martyn Pearl.
Demand is expected to be high from those looking to hear from Sir Ian Cheshire, develop new business insights and expand their personal networks. The session starts at noon with the virtual room opening 10 minutes earlier to allow people to get on to the session.
