Keeping it under wraps

Should the council 'wash its dirty linen in public'? What do you think?

Dear Editor,

Regarding your article ‘IW Council – under scrutiny or not?’ (Sept 18), there is a huge difference between not wishing to wash your dirty washing in public and deliberately organising the composition of committees so as to be unaccountable whilst in public office.

A very dark day for the IW Council, and for the Isle of Wight. One can only assume Conservative councillors are deeply worried about being ousted in the forthcoming council elections, and are therefore are trying to control the narrative and to keep the full story of their failures and incompetence whilst in office firmly hidden under wraps.
