Lance Daish rideout

By Press Release Oct 17, 2022

Around 70 motorcyclists took part in a rideout on Friday to celebrate the life of Lance Daish who died following a road traffic accident near Shalfleet in August.

The bikers met at the Horse and Groom pub, in Ningwood, to escort the funeral cortege to the Island’s cemetery.

Motor-cycle rider, Mr Daish, 51, from Shalfleet, died at the scene of a road traffic accident between a tractor and a black Kawasaki motorcycle on the A3054, Shalfleet, near the junction of Elm Lane.

His family gave permission to photographer, Michelle Jackson, to take pictures of the bikers meeting up and setting off on their way to the funeral.

Following his death, his family issued a statement, saying: “Lance Daish, our beloved husband and father, spoke with actions.
“Often a man of few words, his love and compassion for his family was seen in every crack and callus in his hands formed working to provide a beautiful home, in every meal he’d carefully labour over and every small moment we’d share. He was a craftsman, a builder by trade from a young age. Continuing the family business, his working days were spent with family, providing beautiful homes for others to treasure.

“He was passionate, intelligent and would quickly become adept at anything he set his mind to, including riding his motor-cycle. He loved the Isle of Man TT, making the pilgrimage when he could. That and his barbecues being his only real indulgences.”
He is survived by wife, Lisa, and children Sean, Kelly and Keetan.

JustGiving fundraising pages have been set up for Mr Daish for two charities, Hampshire and IW Air Ambulance and The Bike Experience.
