SPIIOW – the Isle of Wight’s Suicide Prevention and Intervention organisation has another new community partner to add to their support programme.
Solent Autopoint in Ryde, a family run business with over 20 years’ experience within the motor trade, answered the call from SPIIOW when they required a vehicle to respond in, to people who are in crisis in their darkest hour.
Sarah Adams of Suicide Prevention & Intervention IOW said: “With the need to keep our front line team member’s mobile and available to respond we needed a vehicle that could undertake this work. We found ourselves in a situation where people call and rely on us for support and in their time of need, however this time it was SPI calling for the support.
“Our fundraising team put forward applications for funding to Shanklin Rotary and WightAID who have both been fundamental in supporting the work SPI undertake across the Island. Once both of the grant funding organisations had agreed to offer support and with funds that we had raised our self we required a call dealer to undertake finding a vehicle, so another call went out for support to make this happen.
“We are really grateful to Adam Summers of Solent Autopoint who stepped up to answer our call, Adam took time to understand what our needs were and our budget – and with his offer of support to SPI we felt we were in safe hands.
Adam Summers Solent Autopoint said: “Once we were approached by SPI I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to support such a great organisation in supplying them with a vehicle which met their needs. I Wish SPI all the best in their future endeavours and will happily support them with any future vehicle or servicing needs.
