The second IW Owners’ Vespa Club all-day event was held at Ryde Pavilion, on Saturday, and involved live music and an afternoon ride-out.
The event was held in conjunction with Visual Impact and the southern region of the Vespa Club of Britain. Organiser, Geoff Osborne, said: “A number of mainland clubs came over for the day, including Vespas from The New Forest, Portsmouth, Hamble, Andover and Winchester. There were also Island scooterists and our own club members, and, at one point, we had more than 100 scooters here.”
The day started at noon with top local DJs, Dave Ryan, Mike Garlic, Kaf Tan, Dave Wallis and Tony Christian all playing sets.
Around 2.30pm there was the Ridden Custom Show Trophy presentation, followed by the ride-out, taking in St Helens, Bembridge, Sandown, Shanklin, Godshill, Merston and Arreton to Brading Down view point. After the scooterists returned, there were more people arriving for the evening session of entertainment. West London Band, ‘The Hornets’, played an amazing set and were followed by ‘The Butterfly Collective’.
