Island research and development facility for pain relief all set to become reality

A local farmer who harvests an unusual crop is celebrating meeting all criteria set by the Home Office to move his business to the next stage.

Adam Mawer who set up Vecticanna earlier this year to research, develop and supply medical treatments for pain relief using cannabis extracts is now looking forward to moving the business forward, bringing new investment and jobs to the local economy. His organic cannabis crop is all grown on the Island, under special licence from the Government, Adam believes the Island’s climate provides the perfect conditions to successfully cultivate the plants.

Working with research partners The Future Clinic, set up in 2018 by Dr Gary Lee to treat patients with Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions,the company is now set to put the Island right in the forefront of this exciting field of medical research.
