IW Library card holders can now access an extended range of digital services free of charge.
The library service has expanded its popular BorrowBox app, which already provides eBooks and eAudiobooks, to include a new feature called ePress. This gives members access to a wide selection of newspapers and magazines at no cost, available by logging in with a library card number and PIN.
The update comes as the council phases out its subscription to the PressReader app. Development librarian, Louise Emery, said the change was designed to make digital services simpler by bringing them together in one place.
In addition to BorrowBox, members also have free access to Naxos Music Library, an on-line streaming platform offering more than 1.4 million classical music tracks. The service is available via the Naxos website or app.
Full instructions for using BorrowBox and Naxos can be found in all Island libraries, and on the council’s website. Staff are also available to provide demonstrations and advice. Find out more by emailing libraries@iow.gov.uk
