Island business owners play football for charity Mountbatten

The owners of more than 40 Island businesses raised more than £3,000 for Mountbatten on Sunday by taking part in a charity football match.

Local company Workwear Island organised the charity match at Brading Football Club and its founder, Ellie Moore sounded the kickoff whistle.

It was Red v Whites for the nail-biting match, with the White team, sponsored by Capital Jewellers (co-sponsors were PC Consultants) taking the honours when the final whistle blew with the scoreline at 6-4.

As well as the football there were lots of family activities, with activities including a disco, face-painting, a bouncy castle and inflatable football games from the Football Fun Factory for children.
