Island gymnast, Holly, has been crowned a national silver medallist after an impressive performance at the Independent Gymnastics Association Championships, against gymnasts from across the UK.
Holly, who trains with Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy, in Newport, finished second overall, after securing strong results across all four apparatus.
She became national champion on vault, took second place on bars and floor, and finished fifth on beam, despite some nerves.
Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy described it as an “outstanding performance from start to finish”, praising Holly’s consistency, confidence, and hard work.
The academy said: “Moving up two levels since last year; this is a huge achievement. We couldn’t be any prouder of you, Holly! You have worked so incredibly hard for this moment and you absolutely deserve it.”
Holly trains throughout the week while balancing her gymnastics commitments with school, and her performances have led to further opportunities.
She has been selected to represent Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy at competitions in Jersey and Barcelona in 2027.
Fund-raising is now under way to help with the costs of getting Holly, to Barcelona, and supporting her busy training schedule. Her mum is completing a sponsored walk throughout September to raise money towards the trip and Holly’s continued gymnastics training.
