Hill Climbs Championship is last event of the season

The Wightlink-Wight Mountain (WL-WM) Cycle Race Team held their Hill Climbs Championship on Sunday, October 13.

More than 30 riders took on the last event of the season, the ‘Blackgang’ climbs, and pushed themselves to the limit.

Kev Chant was on top form, taking the overall win in 6m 58s. Ewan Cook pulled out two impressive climbs to take both the Junior title and overall second with team-mate, Nick Earley, powering home to take third spot.

Charis Jones (WL-WM) took the women’s title for the second year running, team-mate, Nadia Lele, took second place and Wight Tri member, Arielle Elton-Walters, stepped up on the podium in third.

Vet 50+ – Paul Martin (NAUT), Craig Wilson (Wight Tri), Ross Haydon (Independent)

Vet60+ – Steve Taylor (NAUT), Simon Jones (Independent), Rob Wilson (NAUT)

Junior Boys – Ewan Cook (WL-WM), Alfie Haydon (WL-WM), Eric Williams (NAUT)

Junior Girls – Annabelle Steward, Katie Bunn and Darcey Morgan (All IOW Triathlon Club)
