In the early hours of last Wednesday, severe flooding devastated the entire downstairs floor of Tidal Family Support (TFS) in Rink Road, Ryde.
Dirty water filled the offices, playrooms, sensory rooms and more. The water soaked through toys, books, paperwork, furniture and carpets.
TFS is a community-based, not for profit, child-focused charity which works with families who are directly impacted by separation or divorce.
In order to re-open, and continue their vital work for Island families, the charity needs help to raise just over £5,000 to replace what they lost and make repairs.
There are many things that the family clients lost during the flood – countless personal items with sentimental value. Although they can’t get those back, TFS are asking for the help of the Island community to enable them to open their doors once again, and Cllr Sarah Redrup has organised a GoFundMe page to help raise the necessary funds.
As a small charity, they have limited resources, so something as severe as this flood damage is a huge unexpected cost.
