Have a look ‘Under the Bed’

If you love discovering original art or simply enjoy a good rummage for a bargain – the hugely popular Under the Bed Art Sale at Quay Arts is the perfect February outing. Running in the West Gallery from Wednesday (February 11) to Monday, the sale is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

The event brings together work from over 50 Island artists, many of whom exhibit nationally and internationally. Prices range from £5 to £400, making it one of the most accessible ways to own original artwork – whether you’re a seasoned collector or buying your very first piece.

Expect everything from paintings, prints and ceramics to sketchbook experiments, slight seconds and the odd wonderfully strange object that defies description.

With hundreds of artworks rotated throughout the six day sale, there’s always something new to discover. Entry is free, and the Quay Arts Café is just next door, making it an ideal morning or afternoon out.

It’s also a brilliant way to support the Island’s creative community, as the event is run on a not for profit basis and directly benefits local artists.

So take a friend and see what treasures have been hiding “under the bed”.
