Hovertravel has become the only cross‑Solent ferry operator to achieve Green Marine Europe certification for the third year running.
The scheme, run by the independent European branch of Green Marine International, assesses operators across 11 environmental indicators, including emissions, fuel efficiency, and waste management, with companies required to show clear year‑on‑year improvement.
This year, Hovertravel introduced detailed monitoring of nitrous oxide emissions across its fleet, forming the basis for future reduction plans.
Brendan Beattie, master and marine safety and environmental officer, said the recognition was “a proud moment” for the team, and reflected the company’s commitment to sustainable operations.
