Commodore’s House has received a licence to hold wedding ceremonies on-site, making them a complete destination for your special day. The milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for the historic venue.
Set on the waterfront in Cowes, Commodore’s House has always been celebrated for its stunning setting, with couples having the opportunity to arrive by boat alongside a private pontoon, should they wish. The venue can now offer couples the opportunity to exchange their vows there, surrounded by the beauty of the sea.
Commodore’s House enjoys outstanding harbour views and has a fascinating history. It overcame humble beginnings as a warehouse by the sea to be owned by legendary yacht designer, Uffa Fox, who used it as a boatyard, home and offices. At one time it housed public baths and rumour has it that Napoleon III bathed there in the 1870s. It is now a beautiful and flexible venue for all kinds of celebrations.
