George Richards was awarded the title of Champion Ploughman at the IW Ploughing Association’s annual match at Dodpitts Lane, Chessell, on Saturday.
A total of 38 competitors took part in the competition with their ploughing being judged on opening, uniformity and firmness.
There were seven categories to enter, depending on the type of tractor or plough the participants used.
As well as ploughing, on the land owned by Zoe Plant who also presented the prizes, there were tractor rides and trade stands.
The lovely autumn weather meant the event attracted a large field of spectators.
George ploughed in a 1962 Massey Ferguson with Reserve Champion being awarded to David Watts, who used a 1965 International.

Money raised from the event was donated to the association’s chosen charity, The Admiral Nurses.
A full presentation evening takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at the Chequers Inn in Rookley.
Class winners: Class 1, Lewis Sheath; Class 2, Stuart Slocombe; Class 3, Derek Wilson; Class 4, George Richards; Class 5, Dan Reynolds; Class 6, Roger Brown; Class 7, Glenn Draper.
