Gallybaggers galore

There will be no crows in Chillerton this week because the scarecrow festival is back!

The biennial celebration of straw men (and women) missed a year because of Covid, but is back with a vengence with more than 100 scarecrows on display throughout the village. Today (Friday) is the last day to catch sight of them and cast your vote for your favourite display, as the festival ends this afternoon.

You can also have tea and home-made cake in Aunt Sally’s Tea Room in the village hall from 11am to 4pm or a quiet pint in the Gallybaggers pub. The Gallybaggers will be open again at 7pm this evening with music from the End of the Line duo when the winner of the scarecrow competition will be announced.
