The Rob da Bank Music Club returns to Strings Bar & Venue, next Tuesday (February 24), for its next session, continuing its mission to give young Islanders a vibrant, welcoming space to explore music and creativity. The club is powered by a partnership between Rob da Bank, Strings, industry mentors and the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, all working together to make sure young people have access to inspiring opportunities right here on the Island.
Rob da Bank says he loves seeing the Island buzzing with creativity, adding: “The best part is bringing that energy straight into the Music Club.”
Each session is shaped not only by Rob and the mentors, but by the young people themselves, who help guide the atmosphere and direction of the club. It’s a relaxed, supportive environment, where anyone aged 11 to 19 can try their hand at DJ-ing, song-writing, vocals, instruments or even the basics of behind‑the‑scenes tech. The focus is on confidence, connection, and the simple joy of making music together.
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust plays a key role in supporting the wellbeing and engagement side of the project. Paul Savil explains: “At a time when many young people are struggling, offering a free creative space that builds confidence and connection is invaluable. We’re delighted to work with our patron, Rob da Bank, to make this possible.”
The next session takes place at Strings on Tuesday, February 24 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, and is completely free. Young people can join via Instagram at @Robdabankmusicclub, and anyone interested in collaborating or volunteering can contact Dayna O’Brien at daynaobrien@iowyouthtrust.co.uk.
