St Catherine’s Church, in Ventnor, during its popular Café Church held on the first Sunday of each month, asked for donations this year to Ventnor Community Food Pantry, Food Bank and Baby Box.
Tony McCarthy, Ventnor’s community development officer, gave an insight into the work of the community charities, thanked everybody for their support, and added: “It is so good to have this relationship with St Catherine’s Church.”
Through the generosity of those who attend St Catherine’s, they were able to give a substantial food donation and over £300 to the Community Food Pantry, Food Bank and Baby Box.
The newly-ordained deacon, Revd Nicola Pinnock, said: “Supporting the local community is at the heart of our church, and these charities get right to the heart of our community. The work the teams do is incredible, and we are delighted to support them.”
