Blackgang Chine shortlisted for five UK Theme Park Awards

Blackgang Chine has been shortlisted in five categories at the 2026 UK Theme Park Awards, and is calling on Islanders to vote before the ballot closes on August 28.

The attraction is in the running for Seaside Park of the Year, Best Landscaped Theme Park, Best Customer Service, and Best Social Media Content, while head of marketing, Laura Baxter, has been shortlisted for Theme Park Personality of the Year.

Blackgang Chine is among a small group of UK parks to receive multiple nominations this year, alongside Alton Towers Resort, Paultons Park and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The nominations follow a successful 2025, when Blackgang Chine won Gold for Best Customer Service, Silver for Seaside Park of the Year, and Bronze for Best Marketing Campaign for its ‘Talking Bins with Joe Sugg’ campaign.

Park manager, Dan White, said: “Five nominations is a good day for a park our size. We’re up against operators with budgets we can only dream of, so being on the same shortlist means a lot to the team who do that work every day of the year, not just in August.

“The public vote is 50 per cent of the result, so Island support decides this.”

Public votes account for half of the final result, with the remainder decided by 11 industry judges. You can vote on-line at iw.observer/theme-park-awards.

Voting closes on August 28, with the winners announced at Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort, on September 10.
