First Cowes Fringe was a great success

By Press Release Jun 2, 2023

Actress and singer, Claire Sweeney, stole the show as the first Cowes Fringe was a success over the weekend.

There was an explosion of art and culture through musical acts and workshops held in a variety of venues throughout the town, from Friday until Sunday including Mark’s Shed, Moocow and Trinity Theatre.

As well as Claire, who gave a powerful performance at Mark’s Shed, there were sets over the weekend by Island DJ, Rob da Bank, Chris Quinton and Quivers.

There was lots of alternative entertainment, including popular international demonstrator, Mig, making his first appearance on the Island, who draws his inspiration from all things connected with the seaside from ice creams to driftwood to donkey rides. Jim Vision painted a large mural behind Corries Cabin.

Popular comic, Axel Blake, was also on show. He began his journey in 2008, and has since honed his skills and built his reputation playing the UK’s comedy circuit, as well as engaging fans on social media with his stories, shenanigans and sketches.
