Police closed Newport’s High Street last Friday afternoon to recreate the scene of the fatal collision between a lorry and an 81-year-old Totland woman, which took place on January 16.
The exercise was to assist in their ongoing enquiries into the circumstances of the accident, in which the lady was pronounced dead at the scene in the upper High Street area.
The 24-year-old driver of the lorry from Bembridge was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, but was subsequently released pending further enquiries.
