A man is due to appear in court following a collision between an E-bike and a pedestrian in Ryde earlier this year.
The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, January 5, on Ryde High Street. A 16-year-old girl sustained injuries, which were not reported as serious. The rider did not remain at the scene.
Following enquiries by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police, 21-year-old Patrick Douglas, of Fishbourne Lane, Ryde, has been summoned to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 29.
He will face five charges: dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, failing to stop, and riding a motorcycle on a road without wearing protective headgear. This is due to the E-bike not complying with EAPC regulations.
