Two Sandown soldiers completed a remarkable 14-hour challenge on Saturday to raise money for the Veterans Hub in Ryde.
As part of Armed Forces Day, the pair, Louie Dale (7 Para RHA) and Dillon Gough (3 Para), both aged 23, showcased the very essence of the Airborne Forces ethos – courage, discipline, resilience and self-reliance. Their gruelling effort included a 15-mile Tactical Advance to Battle (TAB) run, carrying more than 35lbs of equipment, followed by a 70-mile cycle ride around the Island, and finishing with a half marathon.
They reached The Veteran pub in Ryde just after 8pm.
Louie and Dillon were joined for the cycle and half marathon by Paul Culshaw, who contributed to the team effort on the day, along with Kev Couglan and others who supported the challenge as part of the crew.
So far, the pair have raised around £1,800 for the Veterans Hub.
