Does your business deserve an award?

By Carole Dennett Jan 29, 2024

The deadline is looming for Island businesses to try for an Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce Business Award; entries must be received by Wednesday (January 31).

Sponsored by WightFibre, the prestigious trophies will be handed out on May 10 during a glittering evening at Cowes Yacht Haven, but you’ve got to be in it to win it!

The awards are open to any Isle of Wight business. You don’t have to be a chamber member.

“Every year the awards are hotly contested,” said CEO, Steven Holbrook. “Winning isn’t easy and it’s a thrill each year to see so many brilliant entries. We know that 2024 will be no different.

“We’re bracing ourselves for the traditional flood of entries just before the deadline! There’s always an element of unpredictability, which is why you shouldn’t make any assumptions. The best advice I can give any business is simply to enter. If you’ve never submitted before, this could be your year.”

The awards are judged by an impartial independent judging panel across 16 categories, including the new Creative Impact Award.

“Our panel of judges is based on the Island, on the mainland and internationally,” Steven explains. “Businesses will be judged on their year and on their submission by a panel of impartial business experts. It’s a brilliant opportunity to tell your story and share your success.

“The deadline is just days away and – as ever – there will be no extensions. If you know you want to enter but you haven’t started your submission yet, I would urge you to do so as soon as possible. Don’t miss out!”
