Co-op charity payout

A total of £38,500, raised by Isle of Wight Co-op members for 14 Local Community Fund charities, has been distributed by five stores.

Donna Newnham, the Co-op’s community and shared value leader, visited the stores at East Cowes, Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor with cheques for each charity. She said: “This year, a wide range of causes were supported from Veterans Outreach, Nettlestone and Seaview Sheds, Prostate Cancer Support, Sandown Brownies and Ventnor Wellbeing Cafe.

“It has been an amazing pay-out for all the groups, especially considering how difficult this year has been. The new groups have now been chosen for the year and members are urged to select which cause they would like to support.”
