By Isle of Wight ObserverA fire in St Lawrence is in a difficult location say Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire is spreading quickly uphill and is currently around 50 metres by 20 metres according to a spokesman at Newport Fire Station.
Special appliances and a total of six pumps are attending the cliff-side blaze.
An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “It’s in a difficult location, about 50 metres by 20 metres at the minute, it’s moving uphill quite fast.”
People have been advised to avoid the area.
