Classic Car Show raises £450 for air ambulance

The third Annual Classic Car and Bike Show, held at Chale Recreation Ground on Sunday, attracted a varied array of classic cars, from the turn of the previous century to the present day.

There was a good selection of British vehicles to be seen at the show, as well as a number from the United States, including a 1957 Ford Thunderbird, heat winner at the Classic American magazine Car of the Year Show in Beaulieu.

Altogether, there were nine trophies up for grabs, including Best Car in Show, won by Terry Knight with his 1953 Wolsley Police Car, and Best Americn Car, won by Guy Glover with his 1969 Buick Riviera. The event raised £450 for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Event organiser, Ken Bloomfield, said: “Despite a damp day, many classic owners and visitors braved the weather to attend, which we as organisers would like to thank them very much.”
