Cherry Godfrey and friends celebrate 30 years of success

Specialists in financial services to Islanders, Cherry Godfrey celebrated 30 years in business on Tuesday (August 8) with a drinks reception for around 85 guests and staff at the Lakeside Hotel in Wootton Bridge.

The business was founded by husband and wife, David and Selena Cherry, née Godfrey, and began as a Finance Brokerage in the Channel Islands in March 1993. Since then the business has enjoyed continuous growth and in September 2021 Cherry Godfrey opened its doors on the Isle of Wight, and now resides on Newport’s High Street.

A spokeswoman for the company said: “Over the last 30 years Cherry Godfrey has evolved into a fully rounded financial services company in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and now on the Isle of Wight. The business has enjoyed quick and continuous growth, but family values, a dedication to customer service and the communities we operate in, remains at the heart of everything we do.”

Managing director on the Island, Andrew Tapsell, said: “Thanks to all our partners that joined us to celebrate at our drinks reception this week – we appreciate your ongoing support, and we are looking forward to further expanding our offering on the Isle of Wight and continuing to support Island residents.

“Whether it’s a new car, a well-deserved holiday or a consolidation of high interest rate debts into one affordable repayment, we are the company that values you and values the Isle of Wight.”
