Do you recognise this man?
Police would like to speak to him in connection with a reported robbery at the Morrisons petrol station on South Street, Newport.
During the incident, which occurred at approximately 7.20pm on Saturday March 28, it’s reported that a man approached a member of staff and kicked him, causing him to fall.
It’s stated that the unknown man then hit the victim in the face, damaging his glasses in the process, and then ordered him to open the till drawers.
After five minutes, the man left the store with a bottle of whiskey, a packet of cigarettes and flowers, none of which were paid for.
Thankfully, the victim suffered no injuries as a result of the assault.
The man they would like to speak to in connection with this incident is described as;
• White
• Aged between 50 and 60 years
• Stocky build
• Grey beard
• Short grey hair
• Wearing grey jeans, black waterproof jacket and a white T-shirt, which had stains down the front
Police believe the man in these images can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows him identity, to get in touch.
