A fast-growing Island dog treat business has relaunched under a new name, with Happy Hound Artisan Bakery rebranding as Worth – The Dog Bakery.
The multi-award winning business, founded in January 2024, is run by mother and daughter, Jan and Hannah Brookes, and co-owner, Kerrie Reed, with her husband, Mark, of Lawdit Solicitors, a director of the company. They say the rebrand reflects how far the bakery has developed in just two years, while keeping the same values that have shaped the business from the start. Worth’s tagline – ‘for dogs who are worth more’ – underline its focus on thoughtful, purpose led ingredients.
The bakery’s ethos is that every ingredient has a purpose. Its hand-baked treats are grain free, nut free, and made without preservatives, using chickpea flour instead of wheat. Products include biscuits, training treats, Woofles, doughnuts, Pupcorn, celebration cakes, and cup-cakes. A separate range of 100 per cent natural dog treats is also available. All bakery items have undergone analytical testing, the business operates documented food safety procedures, and is fully insured for pet food manufacturing.
The business is not simply registered with Trading Standards, it holds Trading Standards Approved status – the only dog bakery on the Island to do so.
Worth products are stocked in more than 15 Island locations and supplied to mainland outlets, including hotels in Cornwall. The products are also available online from worthdogbakery.co.uk.
The first event under the new branding will be at Robin Hill Adventure Park, on October 17, followed by the Santa Paws Fayre, on December 19, run in partnership with the RSPCA and Pawsitive IOW.
The rebrand will introduce new packaging, signage, clothing, and displays, as the business continues to grow its wholesale network while remaining firmly Island based.
