Police are appealing for witnesses following a report that between 7.30pm – 8.30pm on Saturday, December 6, a woman in her 40s was assaulted around the Jellicoe Road and Broadway Crescent area of Binstead.
As part of the investigation, a 32-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of intentional strangulation and common assault. He has been bailed with conditions until Friday, March 6 2026 whilst enquiries continue.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened. If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, please call 101 and quote 44250550420.
Additionally, they’d like to hear from you if you have CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that may assist enquiries.
