The Island’s largest Garden Fair is returning on September 2 & 3, and offers an unique chance to see many Island animal attractions in one place!
Wolverton Manor Garden Fair, whilst well known for hosting high-quality nurseries and gardenalia stalls, also welcomes many furry and feathered friends each year. Wolverton’s hidden gem, ‘Hare Garden’, will give you an opportunity to see some of the delightful West Wight Alpacas, and friends from the IW Donkey Sanctuary. Haven Falconry joins them, with their beautiful birds of prey live in action each day. There will be Ability Dogs 4 Young People’s demonstrations with the ‘Snostoppin’ Huskies close by, offering the chance for little ones to ‘hug a huskie’. The fun dog show, by ‘Barking Mad’, has many fun-filled categories including ‘Handsomest Mutt’, ‘Dog who looks most like its owner’ and crowd favourite, ‘Waggiest tail’. The dog show starts at 3.15pm each day in the Country & Moat Field.
The fair is a dog friendly event so bring your own four-legged companions (as long as they are kept on a lead), but please take extra care when around our visiting animals.
Wolverton Manor Garden Fair offers fun and entertainment for the whole family, alongside more than 170 garden and craft exhibitors. The full itinerary and exhibitor list will be in the IW Observer on Friday, September 1.
Advance adult tickets at £6 are on sale at The Village Shop in Brighstone, Waterstones in Newport and Hose Rhodes Dickson in Ryde. Tickets on the day are £8. Children under 14 are free and there is free parking.
All profits stay on the Island, helping Age UK Isle of Wight support older Island residents. The garden fair is primarily cash only – but some stallholders will accept cards.
