‘A whole new year of theatrical treats’

And just like that it’s 2024! Welcome to a whole new year of theatrical treats.

First up this year is ‘Dick Whittington’, brought to Bembridge Village Hall by The Wight Island Players from January 19-21.

Keeping the pantomime season going and providing just the tonic needed in that rather flat post-festive season, this traditional show is sure to be fun for all the family.

The Pepperpots are ‘Getting Away from it All’ from January 26-28 at Niton Village Hall. Laugh away the January blues with two one-act plays. Trips away don’t always go to plan… In ‘You’re in Room 8’, a married couple get lost en route to a posh hotel and find a rundown guest house. It doesn’t go well! And looking forward to early February, the Apollo Players present ‘Bedroom Farce’, one of Alan Ayckbourn’s most renowned plays. Trevor and Susannah, whose marriage is on the rocks, inflict their miseries on their nearest and dearest: three couples whose own relationships are tenuous at best.
