A 13th Covid-19 patient dies at St Mary’s Hospital

A 13th person in the care of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has died having tested positive for COVID-19.

Alistair Flowerdew, Medical Director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a man who was being cared for at St Mary’s Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 has died.

“The gentleman was in his 80s and had underlying health conditions. His family have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult time.”

As of today (Thurs), 15 people admitted to St Mary’s Hospital to have tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and been discharged.
