49,500 unique users relying on PayByPhone’s services

The Isle of Wight’s mobile parking payment provider, PayByPhone, has revealed that the company processed 255,000 transactions on the island last year, with 49,500 unique users relying on PayByPhone’s services to pay for their parking.

The global mobile parking payment provider also announced that all drivers who use PayByPhone can now use two additional features within the app. The Maps feature allows drivers to locate parking before they leave for their destination and pin their vehicle location onto the map once they have parked. And the Nearby Parking feature instantly provides drivers with the closest PayByPhone parking location number upon their arrival.

“These latest additions allow PayByPhone to be a part of a driver’s journey from the moment they decide to head out, to the moment that they return to their vehicle,” explains Jonny Combe, CEO, PayByPhone UK. “Our focus is on meeting the needs of commuters, so drivers can expect more enhancements in the near future.”

To gain access to the new features within PayByPhone, drivers should download the latest version of the app. The map can then be viewed by swiping upwards on ‘View Map’ from the app home screen. Clicking on a PayByPhone icon on the map will reveal additional information about that parking location, including time limits.

PayByPhone has been present in the UK since 2011 and launched on the Isle of Wight in 2012. In addition to Map-based parking and the Nearby Parking feature, the service also includes a variety of convenient features, such as text message reminders that are sent prior to a parking session expiring, and the option to extend parking times from anywhere.
