The Isle of Wight Youth Trust, which supports vulnerable young people across the Island, has received an £8,500 donation from the Morrisons Foundation.
The funding from the supermarket’s charitable arm has paid for new kitchen equipment to help run healthy eating workshops for a year.
Matt Hall, service lead at the Youth Trust, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this grant. Young people face a range of challenges, and usually the first thing that suffers is their nutrition.
“This grant will enable us to educate and improve the situation for many young people who will see just how practical and budget-friendly healthy eating can be.”
The Youth Trust offers support for Islanders aged five to 25, including counselling, therapy, well-being, employment, careers and housing advice. More information is available via iw.observer/youth-trust.
